2010 marks 30 years as a professional artist and my first exhibition with Jenny Pihan Fine Art. I felt that it was important that this exhibition, like any other should show the range of subjects that interest me and the different ways l approach them.
The most pressing concern of being a painter in the 21st century, at a time when THE IDEA is everything and technique is unimportant is whether or not your work is relevant. For myself, l set out on this journey nearly 30 years ago and it is my intention to see it through where ever it may lead. One thing l know for sure, l can only be myself, l only paint subjects that speak to me and l hope in turn they speak to you.
Born in Brisbane in 1950, Paul attended Brisbane College of Art and worked in the fashion industry for 10 years before becoming a full time artist in 1980. He has held a large number of solo exhibitions both around Australia and internationally. His work is represented in numerous private and corporate collections throughout Australia and overseas.
